75mm F2.8 Review

My past Gear of the Year choices - the Nikon D750 , DJI Mavic Pro and Sony a9 - were based on the strong emotional connection I made with each, as a photographer and videographer during the given year. RXD uses an actuator that is able to precisely control the rotational angle of the motor, allowing it to drive the focusing lens without passing through a reduction gear. Tamron's distinctive image traits, which produce more than just a different degree of blur with F-stop changes, add even more impact.

An F2.8 high-speed zoom lens made for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The all-new Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III RXD (aka Model A036) might just be the most coveted lens on the market this summer. My negative experiences with EF mount Tamron's 70-200mm f2.8 VC USD and 150-600mm lenses have pretty much scared me away from buying anything they make.

In addition, the Model A036 will fully match with various camera-specific features including the in-camera lens correction and Direct Manual Focus (DMF) system features of Sony cameras, enabling this new zoom to take full advantage of the advanced functions that ensure comfortable user experiences.

The A036 zoom features our new Human Touch” design, a mixture of form and function embodied by the Luminous Gold” brand ring above the lens mount. As photography signified by the Luminous Gold brand ring, careful attention to detail has produced an optimum shape reflecting the characteristic look of a Tamron-branded lens, whether on its own or attached to a camera body.

No longer must the MOD of a zoom lens be fixed throughout the Focal range. In the case of the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 Di III RXD, I want to emphasize to many that ignorance will be bliss. At the 75mm telephoto end, the 0.39m (15.3 in) MOD provides an image magnification of 1:4, thereby enabling close-up shooting with a pleasantly blurred background similar to a macro lens.

I use manual lenses but I also enjoy the comfort of autofocus lenses, therefore both can be found in my bag. Before you all start pointing fingers and calling me a ruthless Sony fan-boy who bashed Tamron's first ever full-frame e-mount native lens. When you're done, you will be prompted to disconnect the camera, pop out the battery and put it back in, and re-check your lens firmware (see Step Two above).

It combines quick, precise AF with a bright f2.8 aperture to ensure excellent image quality with beautiful bokeh and fine detail throughout. Full-time manual focus override is also possible and it is compatible with Sony's Direct Manual Focus function or fine-tuned manual control.
